How does Soprano ICE Platinum laser work?
The laser passes safely through the skin's dermal layers, gently heating and destroying the hair follicles at their base using pulses of infrared laser light attracted to the pigment in individual hairs — without affecting surrounding tissues.
How does it differ from other lasers?
Traditional lasers fire single high-energy shots that can be painful. Soprano ICE Platinum uses low energy with frequent passes — more comfortable, virtually pain-free, minimal side effects and excellent results.
How safe is it?
Soprano ICE Platinum uses 3 wavelengths in a single pulse — highly effective hair reduction with no related risks. Laser parameters are matched to your skin and hair type for precise, gentle treatment. Safe on tanned skin.
Any pre-treatment advice?
First-time clients must book a free consultation 24 hours before their appointment. A laser tech reviews your medical history and conducts a patch test. Shave the target area before your patch test and treatment.
What can I expect during my treatment?
You'll receive a consultation and consent form 24 hours before your appointment. Shave the target area 24 hours prior. On the day, the tech maps the treatment area, applies a thick cold gel, then passes the laser handpiece over the mapped area until complete. Safety glasses are provided.
Am I a good candidate?
Suitable for any skin type including tanned skin (wait 1 week after sun exposure). Laser hair reduction is most effective when hair is significantly darker than skin — red or blonde hair may require more sessions; ginger, white or grey hair cannot be treated. Clients must be 18+.
What do I do between treatments?
Do not pluck, tweeze, thread or wax for 8 weeks before or between treatments — the hair root must be intact for the laser to work. Shaving is permitted between treatments.
How many treatments do I need?
Each treatment produces about 20% hair reduction. Hair grows in cycles (Anagen, Telogen, Catagen) and lasers only work during the Anagen phase — so several sessions are needed for effective reduction.
Are there contraindications?
Laser hair removal is not suitable if you have a pacemaker or internal defibrillator; use topical retinoids or retinol (stop 1 week prior); have had Accutane in the last 6 months; are predisposed to keloids; used tetracycline, minocycline, doxycycline or erythromycin in the last month; have vitiligo, scleroderma, collagen disorders, radiation history, skin cancer, psoriasis; are on photosensitising medication; or have tattoos in the treatment area.
Any aftercare tips?
Regrowth rates vary — new growth won't occur for at least three weeks. Shedding of surface hair may occur 5–19 days post-treatment. Avoid sun exposure & tanning beds, heat (hot baths, saunas, steam rooms) and vigorous exercise / swimming immediately after treatment.
